EXPERIENCE ORDESA YOUR WAY
A paradise of contrasts
Tierra de Biescas is one of the closest 4-star hotel complexes to the Ordesa National Park: Biescas is 26 km away from the main access to the Park in Torla – only a 30-minute drive. The Ordesa National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Special Protected Area for Birds, among which the protected bearded vulture stands out. Part of its land belongs to the ‘Ordesa-Viñamala’ Biosphere Reserve. Here is a suggested selection of the most accessible and preferred routes by people who have visited the Huesca Pyrenees:
- Viewpoint of the Arripas Waterfall.
- Waterfalls of Cueva and Estrecho.
- Soaso cirque and the emblematic Cola de Caballo waterfall.
- Cotatuero cirque and its 200-m freefall waterfall
- Viewpoints of Ordesa.
RESPONSIBLE TOURISM
Ordesa-Viñamala Biosphere Reserve
Spain has a network of 52 biosphere reserves, one of the largest in the world. The municipality of Biescas is part of the Ordesa-Viñamala Biosphere Reserve (117,364 hectares), one of the most representative of the mountain ecosystem of the Pyrenees, specifically of the natural systems linked to erosion and glacier formations, and extensive plant formations of unique value.
In 2018, Hotel Tierra de Biescas was awarded with recognition of being a company associated with the Ordesa-Viñamala Biosphere Reserve to help promote a sustainable economy and encourage responsible tourism. This contribution aims to harmonise the conservation of biological and cultural diversity and economic and social development through the relationship between people and nature.
